Really thankful for a night out in the capital city with friends, and a much needed bit of time on our own as well. Being, well, being just us. We ended the night here in Sofi's. For years now I have pressed my nose against the bus window going to and from work, looking at this cool, and totally unexpected little place in Leith.
So a nightcap last night of a beautiful glass of chilled NZ Sauv Blanc, with this playing in the background was pretty perfect. After 15 years together there is still no-one I would rather sit and have a drink with than my other half.
That is so sweet. Sometimes we really need a night out with our other half, away from the kids, to remember why we had kids with them in the first place!
ReplyDeleteSo true Gillian! It was a lovely wee place to end the night, Jxx
DeleteAah Jo, that is so lovely! Me and Frank don't go out on our own often enough, thanks for reminding me of that - time to arrange a date night. And there's nothing like a nice glass of NZ Sauvignon Blanc! xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Rachel- We don't do it often enough as well- we are just glad we still have lolts to say to each other! Jxx
DeleteLovely! We call these our "adult nights out" haha..
ReplyDeleteHa, that made me laugh. Yes its good to remember you are still two people and can exist away from the kiddos. Hope your weekend is good, Jxx
DeleteHow lovely ... a night out together to remember what it's like to just be you again, we don't do nights like that often enough here either ... our wedding anniversary is next month and will be a definite night out though ... Bee xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Bee- have fun planning a celebration night out for your anniversary, Jxxxx

DeleteSofi's is one of my very favourite places. It's where Book Club meets, so I have been a few times now. It's so relaxed and cosy!
ReplyDeleteNo way its where book club meets! Never knew that- I should get along to that someday too! Jxx
