Raindrops, Cakes and Cups

I have always been fascinated by the sparkle in a raindrop- such beauty and promise. Here are a few things that have been happening in my world over the last week.

1. Raindrops on my wet walk round the streets of my hometown.
2. Coffee and cakes with my Mum and the kiddos.
3. In print, in my favourite paper - find my article here in Saturday's Guardian Family section.
4. At last I found some Empire Checkmate, isn't it beautiful?

  2. Paying a return visit and have found lots to like.

I don't often buy the Saturday Guardian (or any other Guardian for that matter!) but when I do I always turn to this column, not just for the recipes, but for the stories that come with them. Your mum sounds lovely.

  4. Woo hoo, you're in the Guardian, my favourite paper!! How cool is that. The family section is the first bit I go to on a Saturday, in fact that and the Guide are probably the only bits I get actually round to reading... My mum often used to make a pastry base pizza when we were small, not unlike your scone pizza.

I'm loving that tea cup, it's a beauty, but loving even more your daughter's nose dive approach to cake!
