For 2013
There are a hundred ways to say nothing at all and a 1000 ways to pass the time of day, to talk about the weather, to prevaricate and to avoid. I have never been one for small talk. I've tried but I have now accepted, with age, that you need to work with your nature not subjugate it!
Speaking from the heart is never 'wrong' - To me things left unsaid burn more than mistaken confidences, or blurted out true feelings. As long as you live with kindness, living truthfully is my way forward and its my aim for this new fledgling year. Jo x

A beautiful post Jo. And I totally agree with you, it's important to know the true you and work from there. x
ReplyDeleteThanks Jen, we have been speaking honestly with family we have not properly seen for over a decade and it feels so good to 'speak from the heart'. That and my own general philosophy inspired this. Appreciate your support very much, Jxx
DeleteSounds like a very wise way to live. (love the bunny too - where is it from please?!) x

DeleteHi Helen, thank you for commenting. See above for the Bunny. Its quite small but sweet when lit. My wee one likes it on before she goes off to sleep! Jxx
Thank you...may have to get one as an early birthday present (late Christmas present?!) for my little one. x
DeleteVery wise words. I'm not one for small talk either, other than to be polite. I really do prefer honest chatting with those I really wish to speak with x
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I agree about the politeness and we need to be kind but I just get very frustrated with people bottling things up for years- not healthy! Thank you for commenting so much, Jxx
DeleteBeautiful, and true. Thank you Jo. x
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa-Marie, really kind of you to say so, glad it struck a chord, Jo xx
DeleteWhat lovely words Jo ... you write so lyrically ... Bee xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Bee, I am trying with my writing. Sometimes it comes easy, others less so. It means a lot you said that, so thank you a lot. Jo xx
DeleteSo true, and put so beautifully. Well said, Jo.

Thanks Gillian, I really appreciate you saying that, I'm working hard to get what I think down, a constant struggle! Jo xx
